There is nothing I love more than florals. And this week Monday marked the first day of spring so I thought this was the perfect time to talk about my love for pastels, florals and mixing it up with a bit of pattern. However, being a mum who practically goes on wet welly walks daily with my toddler, the floral dresses don’t get out much during this season. They don’t call them April showers for nothing, and were not even there yet!
This is my take on this years floral trend for Spring. For me, being comfy and still being able to chase around after my little one is massively important in a day to day outfit, as well as trying not to look like I’ve just rolled out of bed! This shirt from Newlook is a bit different from what I’d usually go for but I’m so happy I bought it. It’s so simple from the front but the embroidery on the back is so detailed. I wear a size 14 as I like shirts to be a bit baggier in the bust area to avoid any escaping! Paired with my Newlook high waisted jeans, this outfit is perfect for chucking on with a pair of wellies and a massive coat for a duck walk. Although, it is so versatile that paired up with some heel boots and a good pair of black skinny jeans it would make a chic look for ladies that lunch or a dinner out!
For me accessories that are practical, simple and a complete bargain are the best. The denim headpiece in this photo is a last summer buy at a bargain price of just a quid and the bag is from this years winter sale at just £4! Both from Newlook as well. Having a small simple bag is a must for me as I travel light, as usually I have Parkers’ dinosaur backpack to add to my ensemble!
As I’m a mum who practically lives in jeans at this time of year I would highly reccomend these Yasmin jeans from Newlook. I love a highwaist and these have such a nice stretch on them. Newlook is one of those companies that for me personally, I know I can buy my size with confidence and know it will be pretty much a perfect fit every single time.
